The lowest advertised rate isn’t always the cheapest loan. We look at how you earn, save and spend. Then we structure your loan so the features you pay for are features you will actually use.
What you need to know
Loans for the home you live in usually attract the sharpest rates. We compare products across our panel and look beyond the headline rate to fees, policies and how quickly the lender can turn the application around.
Variable rates move with the market. They usually allow unlimited extra repayments and come with full offset and redraw, which suits borrowers who want flexibility and plan to pay their loan down faster.
Fixing gives you repayment certainty for one to five years, but it can limit extra repayments and carry break costs. A split loan can give you some of each, and we help you choose the balance that suits you.
An offset account links your savings to your loan, so you pay interest only on the difference. Used well, it can save years of interest. We show you whether the package fee is worth it for your balance.
Redraw lets you access extra repayments you have already made. It is cheaper than an offset but works differently, especially for tax purposes if the home later becomes an investment.
